We compute $ku^*\left(K\!\left({\mathbb{Z}}_p,2\right)\right)$ and $ku_*\left(K\!\left({\mathbb{Z}}_p,2\right)\right)$, the connective $KU$-cohomology and connective $KU$-homology groups of the mod-$p$ Eilenberg–MacLane space $K\!\left({\mathbb{Z}}_p,2\right)$, using the Adams spectral sequence. We obtain a striking interaction between $h_0$-extensions and exotic extensions. The mod-$p$ connective $KU$-cohomology groups, computed elsewhere, are needed in order to establish higher differentials and exotic extensions in the integral groups.

A mathematical model for the effect of the spatial variation of the local evaporative flux on the evaporation of and deposition from a thin pinned particle-laden sessile droplet is formulated and solved. We then analyse the behaviour for a one-parameter family of local evaporative fluxes with the free parameter $n \, (>-1)$ that exhibits qualitatively different behaviours mimicking those that can be obtained by, for example, surrounding the droplet with a bath of fluid or using a mask with one or more holes in it to achieve a desired pattern of evaporation enhancement and/or suppression. We show that when $-1< n<1$ (including the special cases $n=-1/2$ of diffusion-limited evaporation into an unbounded atmosphere and $n=0$ of spatially uniform evaporation), all of the particles are eventually advected to the contact line, and so the final deposit is a ring deposit at the contact line, whereas when $n>1$ all of the particles are eventually advected to the centre of the droplet, and so the final deposit is at the centre of the droplet. In particular, the present work demonstrates that a singular (or even a non-zero) evaporative flux at the contact line is not an essential requirement for the formation of a ring deposit. In addition, we calculate the paths of the particles when diffusion is slower than both axial and radial advection, and show that in this regime all of the particles are captured by the descending free surface before eventually being deposited onto the substrate.
Transdiagnostic indicators predict developmental changes in cognitive control resting-state networks

Over the past decade, transdiagnostic indicators in relation to neurobiological processes have provided extensive insight into youth’s risk for psychopathology. During development, exposure to childhood trauma and dysregulation (i.e., so-called AAA symptomology: anxiety, aggression, and attention problems) puts individuals at a disproportionate risk for developing psychopathology and altered network-level neural functioning. Evidence for the latter has emerged from resting-state fMRI studies linking mental health symptoms and aberrations in functional networks (e.g., cognitive control (CCN), default mode networks (DMN)) in youth, although few of these investigations have used longitudinal designs. Herein, we leveraged a three-year longitudinal study to identify whether traumatic exposures and concomitant dysregulation trigger changes in the developmental trajectories of resting-state functional networks involved in cognitive control (N = 190; 91 females; time 1 Mage = 11.81). Findings from latent growth curve analyses revealed that greater trauma exposure predicted increasing connectivity between the CCN and DMN across time. Greater levels of dysregulation predicted reductions in within-network connectivity in the CCN. These findings presented in typically developing youth corroborate connectivity patterns reported in clinical populations, suggesting there is predictive utility in using transdiagnostic indicators to forecast alterations in resting-state networks implicated in psychopathology.

The treatment and evacuation of people with lower limb fractures in austere environments presents unique challenges that assistive exoskeletal devices could address. In these dangerous situations, independent mobility for the injured can preserve their vital capabilities so that they can safely evacuate and minimize the need for additional personnel to help. This expert view article discusses how different exoskeleton archetypes could provide independent mobility while satisfying the requisite needs for portability, maintainability, durability, and adaptability to be available and useful within austere environments. The authors also discuss areas of development that would enable exoskeletons to operate more effectively in these scenarios as well as preserve the health of the injured limb so that definitive treatment after evacuation will produce better outcomes.
Neurostructural brain imaging study of trait dissociation in healthy children

Background
Trait dissociation has not been examined from a structural human brain mapping perspective in healthy adults or children. Non-pathological dissociation shares some features with daydreaming and mind-wandering, but also involves subtle disruptions in affect and autobiographical memory.
AimsTo identify neurostructural biomarkers of trait dissociation in healthy children.
MethodTypically developing 9- to 15-year-olds (n = 180) without psychological or behavioural disorders were enrolled in the Developmental Chronnecto-Genomics (DevCoG) study of healthy brain development and completed psychological assessments of trauma exposure and dissociation, along with a structural T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging. We conducted univariate ANCOVA generalised linear models for each region of the default mode network examining the effects of trait dissociation, including scanner site, age, gender and trauma as covariates and correcting for multiple comparison.
ResultsWe found that the precuneus was significantly larger in children with higher levels of trait dissociation but this was not related to trauma exposure. The inferior parietal volume was smaller in children with higher levels of trauma but was not related to dissociation. No other regions of interest, including frontal and limbic structures, were significantly related to trait dissociation even before multiple comparison correction.
ConclusionsTrait dissociation reflects subtle cognitive disruptions worthy of study in healthy people and warrants study as a potential risk factor for psychopathology. This neurostructural study of trait dissociation in healthy children identified the precuneus as an essential brain region to consider in future dissociation research.
Compounding and complementary carnivores: Australian bird species eaten by the introduced European red fox Vulpes vulpes and domestic cat Felis catus

Two introduced carnivores, the European red fox Vulpes vulpes and domestic cat Felis catus, have had extensive impacts on Australian biodiversity. In this study, we collate information on consumption of Australian birds by the fox, paralleling a recent study reporting on birds consumed by cats. We found records of consumption by foxes on 128 native bird species (18% of the non-vagrant bird fauna and 25% of those species within the fox’s range), a smaller tally than for cats (343 species, including 297 within the fox’s Australian range, a subset of that of the cat). Most (81%) bird species eaten by foxes are also eaten by cats, suggesting that predation impacts are compounded. As with consumption by cats, birds that nest or forage on the ground are most likely to be consumed by foxes. However, there is also some partitioning, with records of consumption by foxes but not cats for 25 bird species, indicating that impacts of the two predators may also be complementary. Bird species ≥3.4 kg were more likely to be eaten by foxes, and those <3.4 kg by cats. Our compilation provides an inventory and describes characteristics of Australian bird species known to be consumed by foxes, but we acknowledge that records of predation do not imply population-level impacts. Nonetheless, there is sufficient information from other studies to demonstrate that fox predation has significant impacts on the population viability of some Australian birds, especially larger birds, and those that nest or forage on the ground.
Reliability of the NIH toolbox cognitive battery in children and adolescents: a 3-year longitudinal examination

Background
The Cognitive Battery of the National Institutes of Health Toolbox (NIH-TB) is a collection of assessments that have been adapted and normed for administration across the lifespan and is increasingly used in large-scale population-level research. However, despite increasing adoption in longitudinal investigations of neurocognitive development, and growing recommendations that the Toolbox be used in clinical applications, little is known about the long-term temporal stability of the NIH-TB, particularly in youth.
MethodsThe present study examined the long-term temporal reliability of the NIH-TB in a large cohort of youth (9–15 years-old) recruited across two data collection sites. Participants were invited to complete testing annually for 3 years.
ResultsReliability was generally low-to-moderate, with intraclass correlation coefficients ranging between 0.31 and 0.76 for the full sample. There were multiple significant differences between sites, with one site generally exhibiting stronger temporal stability than the other.
ConclusionsReliability of the NIH-TB Cognitive Battery was lower than expected given early work examining shorter test-retest intervals. Moreover, there were very few instances of tests meeting stability requirements for use in research; none of the tests exhibited adequate reliability for use in clinical applications. Reliability is paramount to establishing the validity of the tool, thus the constructs assessed by the NIH-TB may vary over time in youth. We recommend further refinement of the NIH-TB Cognitive Battery and its norming procedures for children before further adoption as a neuropsychological assessment. We also urge researchers who have already employed the NIH-TB in their studies to interpret their results with caution.
Competitive evaporation of multiple sessile droplets

An asymptotic model is derived for the competitive diffusion-limited evaporation of multiple thin sessile droplets under the assumption that the droplets are well separated. Exact solutions of the model are obtained for a pair of and for a polygonal array of identical droplets, and the model is found to perform well even outside its formal range of validity, up to and including the limit of touching droplets. The shielding effect of droplets on each other is demonstrated, and the model is used to investigate the effect of this shielding on droplet evolutions and lifetimes, as well as on the coffee-ring effect. The theoretical predictions of the model are found to be in good agreement with recent experimental results for seven relatively closely spaced droplets, suggesting that the model could be a useful tool for studying a wide range of other droplet configurations.

OBJECTIVES/SPECIFIC AIMS: Background: Delirium is a well described form of acute brain organ dysfunction characterized by decreased or increased movement, changes in attention and concentration as well as perceptual disturbances (i.e., hallucinations) and delusions. Catatonia, a neuropsychiatric syndrome traditionally described in patients with severe psychiatric illness, can present as phenotypically similar to delirium and is characterized by increased, decreased and/or abnormal movements, staring, rigidity, and mutism. Delirium and catatonia can co-occur in the setting of medical illness, but no studies have explored this relationship by age. Our objective was to assess whether advancing age and the presence of catatonia are associated with delirium. METHODS/STUDY POPULATION: Methods: We prospectively enrolled critically ill patients at a single institution who were on a ventilator or in shock and evaluated them daily for delirium using the Confusion Assessment for the ICU and for catatonia using the Bush Francis Catatonia Rating Scale. Measures of association (OR) were assessed with a simple logistic regression model with catatonia as the independent variable and delirium as the dependent variable. Effect measure modification by age was assessed using a Likelihood ratio test. RESULTS/ANTICIPATED RESULTS: Results: We enrolled 136 medical and surgical critically ill patients with 452 matched (concomitant) delirium and catatonia assessments. Median age was 59 years (IQR: 52–68). In our cohort of 136 patients, 58 patients (43%) had delirium only, 4 (3%) had catatonia only, 42 (31%) had both delirium and catatonia, and 32 (24%) had neither. Age was significantly associated with prevalent delirium (i.e., increasing age associated with decreased risk for delirium) (p=0.04) after adjusting for catatonia severity. Catatonia was significantly associated with prevalent delirium (p<0.0001) after adjusting for age. Peak delirium risk was for patients aged 55 years with 3 or more catatonic signs, who had 53.4 times the odds of delirium (95% CI: 16.06, 176.75) than those with no catatonic signs. Patients 70 years and older with 3 or more catatonia features had half this risk. DISCUSSION/SIGNIFICANCE OF IMPACT: Conclusions: Catatonia is significantly associated with prevalent delirium even after controlling for age. These data support an inverted U-shape risk of delirium after adjusting for catatonia. This relationship and its clinical ramifications need to be examined in a larger sample, including patients with dementia. Additionally, we need to assess which acute brain syndrome (delirium or catatonia) develops first.

The $ER\left( 2 \right)$-cohomology of $B\mathbb{Z}/\left( {{2}^{q}} \right)$ and $\mathbb{C}{{\mathbb{P}}^{n}}$ are computed along with the Atiyah–Hirzebruch spectral sequence for $ER{{\left( 2 \right)}^{*}}\left( \mathbb{C}{{\mathbb{P}}^{\infty }} \right)$. This, along with other papers in this series, gives us the $ER\left( 2 \right)$-cohomology of all Eilenberg–MacLane spaces.
U.S. Grower Views on Problematic Weeds and Changes in Weed Pressure in Glyphosate-Resistant Corn, Cotton, and Soybean Cropping Systems

Corn and soybean growers in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Mississippi, Nebraska, and North Carolina, as well as cotton growers in Mississippi and North Carolina, were surveyed about their views on changes in problematic weeds and weed pressure in cropping systems based on a glyphosate-resistant (GR) crop. No growers using a GR cropping system for more than 5 yr reported heavy weed pressure. Over all cropping systems investigated (continuous GR soybean, continuous GR cotton, GR corn/GR soybean, GR soybean/non-GR crop, and GR corn/non-GR crop), 0 to 7% of survey respondents reported greater weed pressure after implementing rotations using GR crops, whereas 31 to 57% felt weed pressure was similar and 36 to 70% indicated that weed pressure was less. Pigweed, morningglory, johnsongrass, ragweed, foxtail, and velvetleaf were mentioned as their most problematic weeds, depending on the state and cropping system. Systems using GR crops improved weed management compared with the technologies used before the adoption of GR crops. However, the long-term success of managing problematic weeds in GR cropping systems will require the development of multifaceted integrated weed management programs that include glyphosate as well as other weed management tactics.
U.S. Farmer Awareness of Glyphosate-Resistant Weeds and Resistance Management Strategies

A survey of farmers from six U.S. states (Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Mississippi, and North Carolina) was conducted to assess the farmers' views on glyphosate-resistant (GR) weeds and tactics used to prevent or manage GR weed populations in genetically engineered (GE) GR crops. Only 30% of farmers thought GR weeds were a serious issue. Few farmers thought field tillage and/or using a non-GR crop in rotation with GR crops would be an effective strategy. Most farmers did not recognize the role that the recurrent use of an herbicide plays in evolution of resistance. A substantial number of farmers underestimated the potential for GR weed populations to evolve in an agroecosystem dominated by glyphosate as the weed control tactic. These results indicate there are major challenges that the agriculture and weed science communities must face to implement long-term sustainable GE GR-based cropping systems within the agroecosystem.
Suitability of Passive Integrated Transponder (PIT) Tags for Tracking Weed Seed Movement in Soils

Information linking seed movement, along with changes in seed viability, is critical for understanding weed seed dynamics. Studies were conducted to examine the use of passive integrated transponder (PIT) tags placed in nylon mesh packets in combination with GPS (Global Positioning System) technology to track weed seed movement after tillage. Cylindrical PIT tags 11.5, 12, 20, and 23 mm long by 2 mm wide were evaluated in water and soil. Detection improved as tag size increased because of greater signal strength. Tags with the main axis oriented vertically were recovered at greater depths than when placed horizontally. Average detection depths for 12-mm PIT tags were 29.5 cm in water, 18.2 cm in sand, 24 cm in artificial soil, and 21.2 cm in sandy loam soil. Tests also showed that PIT tags and nylon mesh packets were resilient to intense tillage with a rototiller. No significant differences in displacement because of tillage were observed between free PIT tags and PIT-tagged packets. PIT tag performance was further tested in a 2-yr field experiment conducted between September 2003 and October 2005 at six sites in Nebraska and Wyoming. Tilled and no-till blocks were established at each site. PIT-tagged packets in the tilled block and untagged packets in the no-till block were used. Sample burial depths were 0, 2.5, 7.5, and 15 cm. Sample recovery rate did not differ between tilled and no-till blocks. Time of recovery was the main factor affecting recovery of packets buried at 0 and 2.5 cm in both blocks. Seed predation by small rodents and movement of samples beyond the area of study by tillage implements were the main sources of packet loss. Nevertheless, 2 yr after initiation of the study, more than 85% of the samples were recovered. Future development of PIT tag technology will lead to an enhanced ability to monitor seed movement.
Glyphosate-Induced Weed Shifts in Glyphosate-Resistant Corn or a Rotation of Glyphosate-Resistant Corn, Sugarbeet, and Spring Wheat

A field trial was conducted for 6 yr (1998 through 2003) at Scottsbluff, NE, to measure weed shifts following multiple applications of two rates of glyphosate or alternating glyphosate with nonglyphosate treatments in continuous corn or in a crop rotation of corn, sugarbeet, and spring wheat with all three crops resistant to glyphosate. After 6 yr, plant densities of common lambsquarters, redroot pigweed, hairy nightshade, and common purslane increased in the crop-rotation treatment compared with continuous corn. There were four weed control subplot treatments consisting of two in-crop applications of glyphosate at 0.4 or 0.8 kg ae/ha each spring, alternating two applications of glyphosate at 0.8 kg/ha one year with a nonglyphosate treatment the next year, or a nonglyphosate treatment each year. The composition of the weed population averaged across all four treatments shifted from kochia and wild proso millet to predominately common lambsquarters. After 3 yr of using glyphosate at 0.4 kg/ha twice each year, common lambsquarters density increased compared with that in the 0.8 kg/ha rate of glyphosate or alternating glyphosate treatments. By the sixth year, the density of common lambsquarters in the glyphosate at 0.4 kg/ha treatment had increased to the extent that corn grain yield was reduced 43% compared with corn grain yield in the 0.8 kg/ha glyphosate treatment. Using glyphosate at either rate for 6 yr decreased the densities of kochia, wild proso millet, and longspine sandbur, did not alter densities of redroot pigweed and green foxtail, and increased the density of hairy nightshade. In the low-rate treatment of glyphosate, the number of common lambsquarters seeds in the seed bank were 134 seeds/kg soil in 1998, declined to 15 seeds/kg by 2002, but began to increase in 2003 as the densities of plants not controlled by glyphosate increased.
